Dear Panther Lake Families,
Our annual School Book Fair is right around the corner! Soon, our media center will be transformed into a vibrant pop-up bookstore filled with engaging, age-appropriate titles for every grade level. Students will have the opportunity to attend the fair with their classes and parents are welcome to visit during our special family shopping hours.
Beyond the excitement of new stories and bookmarks, the Book Fair serves as a great reminder of the power of reading at home. Developing strong reading habits outside the classroom is one of the most effective ways to support your child’s academic and personal growth:
-
Independent Reading:Â When children choose their own books and read on their own, they build vocabulary, strengthen focus, and develop confidence. Even 15 to 20 minutes a day of independent reading makes a lasting impact on reading fluency.
-
Family Reading Time: Reading together—whether taking turns reading chapters aloud or sharing picture books before bed—fosters connection and deepens comprehension through conversation. It also shows children that reading is a valued, lifelong activity rather than just a school assignment.
Thank you for partnering with us to foster a love of reading in our school community. We look forward to seeing our young readers discover their next favorite book!
Â
Warmly,
Â
With Panther Pride,Â
