The Panther Print - Week of September 14, 2026

Dear Panther Lake Families,

This week I would like to share some important safety reminders. 

First of all, our new OCPS policy regarding micro-mobility devices (electric scooters and e-bikes) is in full effect. Students at Panther Lake should not be using micro-mobility devices to travel to and from school. Per the new policy, students must have a driver’s license. This eliminates our entire student population. If your child arrives on a micro-mobility device, you will be called and may be required to come to school and pick up the device.    

Next, if you are a parent that is using a micro-mobility device, we kindly ask that you refrain from driving it on school grounds. Once you reach the edge of our property, please get off and walk the device. This is to ensure the safety of all students walking onto our campus.  Additionally, please remember that all students under the age of 16 are required to wear helmet when riding a bike or scooter. 

Finally, we are all excited by the opening of our new park across the street. With that said, we have noticed several families walking across the street directly from the front of our school at dismissal time. This is very dangerous as traffic is heavy at that time and there is no crosswalk in that area. If you are planning to visit the park after school, please walk to the light on Seidel Road and cross the street with the crossing guard in the crosswalk. It may take you a few extra minutes, but it is much safer for everyone.
