Principal's Message

Panther Lake Elementary Logo

Welcome to Panther Lake Elementary!

Christine Szymanski

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach a crucial time in our academic calendar, I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance, especially in the months leading up to the state tests.

March and April mark a critical period for our students as they prepare to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on state assessments. These tests serve as valuable measures of their academic progress and provide insights into areas where additional support may be needed. Therefore, it is imperative that our students are present in school during this time to receive the necessary instruction, support, and resources to excel.

Extended vacations, particularly those taken immediately before or during the testing period, can disrupt the continuity of learning and impact students' preparation and performance on these assessments. Every day of instruction counts, and missed days can significantly affect a student's ability to grasp key concepts and reinforce essential skills.

I understand the desire to take advantage of additional vacation days, particularly around spring break. However, I urge you to consider the long-term benefits of prioritizing your child's education by ensuring their consistent attendance leading up to the state tests.

By attending school regularly, students not only have the opportunity to engage fully in their learning but also benefit from the support and guidance of their teachers and peers. Together, we can help our students feel confident and well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the state tests and achieve their academic goals.

As partners in your child's education, I encourage you to support our efforts to maintain strong attendance habits and emphasize the importance of consistent attendance with your child. Together, we can ensure that every student has the best possible chance to succeed.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or our school staff.

Warm regards,

Dr. Christine Szymanski
